Gestut Fahrof is top at Baden-Baden!
The Jacobs family’s Gestut Fahrhof have enjoyed a rich vein of success of late -not only did the farm bred top German filly Habana, Gestut Fahrhof were responsible for consigning the top yearling sold at last week’s BBAG Yearling Sale.
The Gestut Fahrhof consigned Kingman colt (Lot 62), the only in the sale by his outstanding sire, was knocked down to Jason Litt for €450 000.
Litt said of his purchase, “I’m really happy right now.We got the one we wanted. We came here trying to buy what we thought was the best horse in the sale, and we thought he was the best horse in the sale.He’s likely to stay in Europe.”
The sales topping colt is out of triple Listed winner Sarandia, who finished second in the German Oaks of her year. Sarandia, in turn, was sired by Dansili and is out of the Dashing Blade mare Salontasche -also dam of G3 winner Saphir.
The decision of Andreas Jacobs and the team at Gestut Fahrhof to offer their yearlings for sale only at Baden-Baden this year was certainly the correct one as the farm took its place proudly at the top of the consignors’ charts.
In addition to the Kingman colt, Fahrhof also sold a son of Night of Thunder who was knocked down to trainer Andreas Suborics for €325,000.
Gestut Fahrhof finished on Friday night as leading consignor, with three of the day’s most expensive yearlings and total receipts of €1,420,000 ($1,418,195) from the sale of 12 of the 16 horses they offered.
Habana, who is set to take her place in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac, made it two wins from two starts when that Gestut Fahrhof bred and owned filly ran out a two length winner of the recent 149th Renate und Albrecht Woeste – Zukunfts-Rennen.
